Project Brief
Deliver a solution that enables our warehouse team to manage stock, goods in and out, transfers and stock take. The system should integrate with Navision, work across six store's locations, be simple to use, robust and not get in the way of the day to day operation of the warehouse.
Solution Implemented
Windows Mobile and the latest hardware from OEM manufacturer Pidion we selected as the hardware for this project. C# was used for coding throughout and paired with the SQLite database on the mobile side.
Besides the core Mobile application, a dedicated desktop client was created to handle the synchronisation of data and act as the broker between the mobile devices and the Navision ERP system. The desktop application also provides for receipting of transactions, when a printed record is required of a transaction.
Standard windows based MSI deployment packages were also created for onward packaging be the desktop deployment team.
