Project Brief
Provide a multi-fund solution that will enable the existing Excel based solutions to be retired and streamline the production of client, agent and fund documentation.
Introduce BACS payments for client payments and agent commissions. All historical data from the existing spreadsheets must be migrated to the new system.
Solution Implemented
This system was delivered using Microsoft Visual Studio and the .Net Framework with data being held in a SQL Server database. Once the database modelling was completed a series of conversion routines were developed to allow for the database to be populated with the historical data.
The application was developed as a Windows forms based solution using an MDI approach with easy access to all application functions. The program integrates with Microsoft Word for the production of various client letters when a dividend is declared. Management reporting and information is handled by Crystal Reports with BACS payments being processed via RBSI via custom extract routines.
All database access is via an abstracted data access layer with the extensive use of views and stored procedures throughout to provide logical separation of business layers.
