Published by Ben on Oct 16, 2015 at 10:33am

It’s been 4 weeks since the last blog post and we've been busy again.

I've completed two projects over that period in between pluralsight sessions in preparation for my first run at a Microsoft Exam.  A Wordsearch generator and a neat little colour picker.

Consuming APIs and Martial Arts of Databases

Published by Ben on Oct 4, 2015 at 13:52pm

It’s been a while, since then quite a bunch has happened.  Let’s start with the good stuff.  Our latest Web Design task was to create something “cool”.  This something cool had a few conditions, the first was that it had to make use of an API, the other condition was it had to consume data from an Endpoint.

One month in

Published by Joe on Sept 21, 2015 at 11:00am

So it’s the fourth week that I’ve been working with Antelle, the past 4 weeks seem to have gone by in a flash of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Published by Tony on Aug 17, 2015 at 11:02am

Like most plans - very few survive being put into action.  Whilst the beginning and end points hopefully remain intact the  bits in the middle are usually up for grabs the moment a project starts.  The plan with our trainees is I'm pretty sure going to be the same, a moving feast of figuring out what works and what doesn't but we do have a couple of goals we are aiming for.

So Why Train vs Hire?

Published by Tony on July 28, 2015 at 17:09pm

The short answer is: necessity.  The longer answer though needs some explanation of the local job market on the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man has a very, very low level of unemployment.  Honestly look at the graphic below.  We have a mere left arm of people actively looking for work!
