Castletown's brief for the project was to create an engaging website that not
only looked good but was also intuitive and easy to use.
The site should be able to be updated by non-technical staff and allow them
to manage news articles, documents, images and photographs.
Additionally visitors to the site should be able to fill in and report a
variety of on-line forms.
This project proved an ideal opportunity for us use our new Content
Management System. The CMS software has been developed as a series of
reusable ASP. Net application blocks that provide a intuitive and ease to use
interface for non-technical users to be shielded from the complexity of HTML.
The site was delivered on-time and to budget and delivered the following
functionality:
- User management and security
- Ease to use intuitive design
- Can be rapidly integrated into
a new or existing site design
- Ability to post news articles
into categories / sub categories
- Flexible RSS Support
- Support for an unlimited
number of sub-levels within a top level category
- Full support for Photo
galleries
- Uploading of site content images (with automatic thumb nailing and
resizing), PDF,
Word, Excel etc.
- Standards compliant with broad
cross browser support
- Fully extendable to enable
full web-application support (web-shops, online forms etc)
- Built using the very latest
ASP. Net tools and award winning control libraries
- SQL Server 2005 based, site
