Dispatch and Invoicing Solution

Project Brief

Deliver a system that will enable the existing manual paper based system to be fully replaced. The existing system is rapidly becoming a burden on the business and a real problem particularly at busy periods.

We need a solution that will speed up the day to day operations with a particular emphasis on ease of use as many staff will have no or little experience of using a computer. The monthly invoicing (which currently takes a whole weekend) also needs to be automated and streamlined.

Solution Implemented

A solution was designed that provides two usage scenarios the first for the day to day operations (job creation, delivery notes etc) the second for administrator functions (invoicing, price list modification etc).

As the system could be used by users with limited or no computer experience the interface design was of paramount importance. We took an iterative approach to the design delivering and demonstrating several versions until all the elements came together.

The system was built using our standard controls and libraries enabling the solution to be developed and implemented within a tight deadline.

The paper systems have been retired and Richard and Sarah now have there weekends back.
