Project Brief

Create a flexible reporting solution for running on-demand management reports for store sales, group performance etc, etc. Solution should use the active directory for security and authentication.

Ideally reports will be available by a website and will support the exporting of data in a variety of formats (PDF, Word, Excel etc).

Solution Implemented

System was developed using Microsoft Reporting Services 2000. As such a centralised reporting portal created into which all reports are delivered.

Various SQL Server Data Transformation packages were created within SQL Server to import the data each morning once the overnight processes has completed. Various indexes and tuning options are also applied to ensure that the 1,500,000+ rows are optimally searched.

Security is handled by active directory as such all users are automatically presented with the appropriate reports.

All reports are browser based.
